Abstract Submission

 

If you have submitted an abstract and would like to do register for the Congress, please do this via the Speaker Zone.

 

Publication

Abstracts will be published in one of the official IASO journals. A copy of the Abstract Book will be given to all Registered Delegates.


Abstract Presentation

Abstracts will be accepted for 15-minute oral presentations (10 minutes plus 5 minutes discussion time) or poster presentations. Poster authors will be asked to stand by their poster during scheduled poster presentation times. All authors have now been notified of the review outcome. See below for further presentation instructions.

Call4Posters®

A new service - Call4Posters® - is now available to all poster presenters. Call4Posters® is an online service that offers you the opportunity to create a professional poster quickly and easily and even enjoy the convenience of having your poster delivered onsite to the Congress. This service is now available and all poster presenters will be contacted via email and provided with a User ID and Password.


Accreditation

The 16th European Congress on Obesity (ECO) is accredited by the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME) to provide the following CME activity for medical specialists. The EACCME is an institution of the European Union of Medical Specialists (UEMS), www.uems.net.

?The EACCME has granted the 16th European Congress on Obesity (ECO) a maximum of 18 European external CME credits. (The Swiss Society of Endocrinology (SGED/SSED) has granted 24 points to the congress). Each medical specialist should claim only those hours of credit that he/she actually spent in the educational activity.? 

?EACCME credits are recognized by the American Medical Association towards the Physician's Recognition Award (PRA). To convert EACCME credit to AMA PRA category 1 credit, contact the AMA.?

Abstracts will not be accepted until full payment is received. Payments must be in Euros using one of the following options:

  • Credit card - Visa and Mastercard payments can be completed during online abstract submission or download the card payment form. Please note that we do not accept American Express or Diners Club

EASO Awards for Scientific Excellence 2008

The Friedrich Wassermann Lecture Award recognises the outstanding and sustained scientific contributions to the advancement of knowledge in the field of obesity. And the EASO Young Investigator Awards recognise outstanding scientific achievements in the field of obesity or related metabolic disorders ? one for clinically orientated and one for basic science.  The deadline for applications has now passed.
