BÂTIMENT DES FORCES MOTRICES (BFM)

This former electrical plant was built in 1886 on an island on the Rhône river to supply the Geneva households with drinking water, the industries with hydraulic power, and to regulate the level of the lake.

The abandoned factory with high ceilings and windows was totally refurbished in 1995 and now houses a top calibre auditorium and a fabulous multi-purpose space which can be dressed and lit in any way to suit your event to a "T".  The architect deliberately left 2 turbines in the foyer area to illustrate the building's industrial past.

The ticket price includes food, drink and entertainment.

Delegate Concert

Friday 16th May - 20.30 - 22.30 hrs

The cost of the Delegate Concert ticket is 25? - this includes a free CD

A concert by the Lausanne Chamber Orchestra will take place at the prestigious Victoria Hall.

VICTORIA HALL

At the origin of this amazing building is Sir Barton, Consul in Geneva of Her Most Gracious Majesty, Queen Victoria.

Not satisfied at having created a brass band, the "Harmonie Nautique", he decided to construct a concert hall in which it could perform: a beautiful building seating 1,850, with exceptional acoustics and decorated in pure Rococo style.

Since its inauguration in 1894, over 2,000 artists, orchestras and choruses have performed here and this, despite the fire which damaged most of the hall and its decor in September of 1984, requiring three years to restore its splendour.

Today, the Victoria Hall is essentially devoted to classical music performances.
